Treatment for cat allergy:
It’s best to take your cat to the vet for the physical examination. The vet after conducting the physical examination and recoding down the history will suggest few allergy tests for your cat. Further on the vet will also make some changes in the dietary plan of the allergic cat in order to determine the source of allergy. In order to check out the skin allergies the vet is going to refer you to vet dermatologist so the main cause of skin allergies can be determined and treated. Sometimes skin allergies are caused due to use of wrong body wash or shampoo. If this is the case then the dermatologist is going to suggest a different shampoo for your cat.
If your cat is suffering from food allergies then the vet will prescribe hydrolyzed diet with protein for a few weeks in order to see the bodily reactions.
How to fight cat allergy?
If you suspect that your cat is more prone to fleas then its best to adopt flea controlling methods to control the invasion of fleas before they cause allergy. Next you need to keep your house clean. You must clean your carpets and curtains twice or thrice a week and you must daily clean the bedding items of your cat. You also need to bath your cat two to three times a week. Try to bath your cat with an organic, moisturizing shampoo in order to prevent its skin from getting rough and dry. If after following these steps, your cat still suffers from allergies then your doctor might suggest some steroids and antihistamines for the elimination of allergies.
