You can clean the skin of your dog with alcohol and some other antiseptics. This will reduce the chances of infection on his skin.

If your dog has been treated by the vet for sand fleas, you should always treat your home with some good pesticide. It is necessary to prevent any re-infection. There are number of pesticides available in the market for such purposes. Use them in your rooms, beds, and the areas where your dog lives. Vacuum the rooms of your house on a daily basis, especially the room of the dog. Cleanliness is very much important for all types of diseases. Make sure that there are no survivors in the bed of the dog so that they will not start infecting the dog again.
